What to expect after a session

Like most holistic approaches, sound therapy sessions can sometimes trigger a personal process, whether you have had a relaxation only session or one with reflection. This can be felt on a physical, mental, or emotional level, and the process of healing can continue after the session.

Be kind to yourself and follow these tips to support yourself after the session:

  • Be gentle with yourself after a session and give yourself time and space to process the session and any emotions that may come up.
  • Allow yourself time to reflect, perhaps treat yourself to a hot drink and put your feet up or maybe go for a walk or sit in a park, whatever it is that you enjoy.
  • You may feel tired, a little achy, have cold-like symptoms, or feel hung-over the next morning. This is a common healing response and indicates release of some kind.
  • Drink plenty of water to flush out any toxins from your system.
  • Consider your diet and eat healthy; avoid eating a heavy meal after treatment.
  • Avoid stimulants such as caffeine or alcohol for at least 24 hours.
  • Be aware that a healing response may last a couple of hours to a couple of days. However, these are usually experienced as mild changes from what you would consider to be the ‘norm’. If you are concerned, please contact me.

If symptoms are chronic or sudden onset, or you are at all worried, please contact your doctor as it is unlikely these are caused by the sound therapy.
